Our care philosophy
It is our aim to enable all our residents at The Grand to maintain the highest level of independence and achieve their full potential whatever that may be – physical, intellectual, emotional or social.
We believe this philosophy can be achieved by providing professional, person-centred care, nurturing each resident individually, assessing in full and understanding their needs and appreciating that their care requirements may change from time to time.
We create individual care plans for each resident, designed to specifically address all aspects of care provision, with a strong emphasis on holistic needs. Care plans are based around a comprehensive assessment of the resident on arrival and incorporate various care options discussed with residents and close family members.
We are committed to ‘resident enablement’; an approach which priorities residents remaining as independent as possible for as long as possible, building up their confidence and retaining their ability to continue with aspects of their daily life.
All our staff undergo Mindfulness training to help preserve and express compassion to elders in their care. Mindfulness is a belief that strengthens and maintains natural kindness in caring for one another and it is a way of meeting the present moments of life with a fresh and alert mind.
It is a recognised fact that quality, person-centred care should be at the heart of every care environment.
