Bagpiper Billy James brought the sounds of Scotland to The Grand for its recent Burns Week celebrations. Following a haggis meal with all the trimmings and a fun quiz about Robert Burns, Billy played a medley of pipe classics for residents, touring the home and performing on every floor.
He even made a special visit to the room of one of our Scottish residents who is unable to get up from her bed – she was over the moon with her solo recital!
Activities team leader, Bridget Peck, commented: “The residents enjoyed a magical music-filled afternoon and the sound of the bagpipes made everyone smile. We have a number of Scottish residents who were delighted to hear the piper and encouraged everyone, including the staff team, up to dance. It was a great afternoon and a lovely way to celebrate Burns Week.”
